For years, when working with clients who would come to me questioning their lives, why they were here in the first place, and what in hell are they supposed to be doing, especially when their lives were falling apart, I would ask them if they had a personal belief and how would they identify that belief in their current life as they know it.
It did not matter whether they believed in God or not; I wanted them to be open and honest about their personal beliefs, that’s all. And if this is all there is, and they died tomorrow, are they OK with that as well?
If they believed in God, Source, Creator, or Cosmic Bob or Betty, it didn’t matter. I wanted to know where they thought their ‘god’ lived or existed, and how they believed this energy affected them.
Once they were able to come to the conclusion that ‘God’ only existed in their mind, and that whatever their God of choice was, it was only in their mind, and if all is energy, then who are we, and where or what, and where is our mind?
Heady stuff, but worth pursuing.
I am going to segue, which I often do in most of my conversations, so bear with me as I offer a bit of my poetry to attempt to make a point.
Whispers of the Infinite
In the dark tapestry of night,
I gaze upon the stars’ silent dance,
And wonder — does a tiny cell in my toe
Perceive the vastness of this grand expanse?
Does it feel the universe in its glow,
A flicker of wonder, a whisper below
Connected yet separate —
Part of all that is, and all that’s yet to show?
Perhaps in every smallest part,
Lies a mirror of the whole —
A universe within each heart,
Awakening the soul.
We are stardust, sea, and sky,
Each shard of life a cosmic cry —
We are all awake, and all alive,
Bound by wonder, destined to thrive.
I remember contemplating the night sky when I was quite young, living in Northern Ontario, Canada, and there were few street lights in my very small town. The sky was so impressive – very few have been gifted in seeing what the sky truly can display without all the artificial lights camouflaging its incredible beauty. It is a dark velvet blanket spread with infinite diamonds that twinkle and glow. Then the Northern Lights would often dance for me in their magnificent colors and graceful, otherworldly movements.
I felt a profound connection to the universe — an expansive web of stars, planets, and unseen energies. But I also wondered: if a tiny cell in my big toe could observe the cosmos, would it recognize itself as part of the whole? Would it understand that its existence is woven into the fabric of the universe, just as I do? So I wrote this little bit of poetry to attempt to share an awareness of who we truly are.
This idea suggests that consciousness or awareness might not be a singular gift but an intrinsic part of all things — hidden in the smallest particles, flowing through every fragment of life, connecting us in a vast, silent symphony of existence.
If each minute part holds a sliver of awareness, then we are all expressions of the same boundless consciousness, each moment a realization of the infinite within us all. We are not separate islands but waves in a great ocean of awareness, forever intertwined in the dance of existence.
Now back to the current reality we seem to be caught up in with all the fear mongering, scandals, chaos that appears to threaten our world, and I remembered advice from one of my very down-to-earth guides that once had a body as I do: “Stay in your own lane. It is not happening in your backyard. Send compassion and put your own life in order as best you can.”
And that is where I am going with these meanderings for the next few weeks as Marcia reminds me weekly if I have anything for her, since I am caught up in writing book three of my trilogy, and I started a new series of paintings – ’White Birch Trees’ in winter – the heat was getting to me…
And now for a reality check…
If I change my mind, my perception, my thoughts, and my feelings about myself, can this affect how I see the planet, and what is going on in my world as I know it?
More to come in the next few weeks…
Always remember, you are loved more than you will ever know, and you are powerful enough to move mountains, but today let’s collectively create the world we are dreaming of…
