A Journey of Healing, Legacy, and Limitless Love in Puerto Vallarta and Beyond
Some souls walk this Earth to remind others what healing looks like when rooted in truth, resilience, and love. One of those souls is Maria Félix, known to many as Angel and to those in ceremony as Nana Cuauhtli, (Grandmother Eagle in Nahuatl).
Her path hasn’t been easy. Born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, and raised in the heart of Los Angeles near the Mar Vista Gardens Housing Projects, Maria Félix’s early years were shaped by survival, navigating childhood trauma, bullying, gang life, and becoming a teen mother. Yet, from pain, she has carved purpose. From loss, she’s grown light. And from silence, she’s emerged as a voice for others.
The calling within her runs deep, passed down from her great-grandmother Maria Colis, a shamaness from Zacatecas who first recognized Maria Félix’s alchemical gifts when she was 10 years old.
Today, Maria Félix has become the vessel through which ancestral wisdom breathes again. In her words: “I am not a healer, I am the conduit that channels the medicine that people receive from their ancestors, spirit guides, and guardian angels. I do not heal people; I teach them how to heal themselves through ancestral medicine and spiritual practices.”
Maria Félix is the founder of Infinity Women’s Wellness Retreat Center, nestled in the jungle of Cabo Corrientes, just two hours south of Puerto Vallarta.
This sacred sanctuary, a dream born from sorrow and shaped by spirit, was created in honor of her beloved wife of 17 years, Kimberly Maddox, who died of cancer on September 12, 2016, and whose parting words sparked the vision: “You’re going to have to find something that will heal and fill the emptiness you will feel when I am gone.”
Three years later, Maria Félix broke ground on the land that would become Infinity. Some of Kimberly’s ashes were lovingly mixed into the cement, forever sealed within the walls and foundation of the main house, which is named Kasa Kimberly. Her spiritual presence greets every sunrise and sunset, elevates every prayer, every wish, and every dream into the etheric realm.
Every gathering of women at Infinity is a blessed gathering. After 31 years of service in nonprofit and government roles in Long Beach and Sacramento, Maria Félix relocated to Cabo Corrientes, where she devoted herself to her spiritual and ancestral practices, creating a space where women can learn to heal themselves, their families, and their communities.
At Infinity, women of all walks of life and ages are welcomed and are invited to remember that healing is not only possible, but also infinite.
The Pillars of Infinity
1. Ancestral Wisdom – Honoring the sacred medicine of her lineage and collaborating with local and global elders to offer traditional ceremonies, herbal healing, and teachings rooted in Earth and spirit.
2. Holistic Wellness – Integrating mind, body, and soul through yoga, sound therapy, art healing, and immersion in nature’s embrace.
3. Women’s Empowerment – Creating space for women to reclaim their stories, reconnect in sisterhood, and rise in their power, knowing that healed women raise healed generations.
4. Inclusivity and Accessibility – Through scholarships and a pay-it-forward model, women from all financial backgrounds can retreat, reflect, and rise, side by side.
5. Community and Sustainability – Committed to honoring local traditions, supporting nearby villages, and living in harmony with the land.
Infinity already pulses with life, featuring a meditation room, a yoga deck for gazing at the ocean or at the stars, a shaded pergola for storytelling, and a rustic pizza oven and outdoor grill area, where nourishment is as soulful as it is delicious. Future plans include free-standing casitas, a temazcal, meditation fountains, and a pool, each element woven with intention and community support.
The Spirit of the Grandmother Eagle
Three years ago, after a powerful temazcal ceremony in the presence of seven shamans from around the world, Maria Félix was given the sacred name Nana Cuauhtli, meaning “Grandmother Eagle” in Nahuatl—a name that carries generations of promise, medicine, and leadership. Along with her name, Maria Félix received a traditional ceremonial medicine box, a deer skin drum, an eagle feather, an eagle claw, and an owl wing (symbolizing wisdom).
Her most treasured gift from that gathering was the blessings and backing of the elders who meet in San Pedro, California, every year to share medicine, wisdom, music, dance, tradition, and to ensure that our ancestral wisdom lives on in the future generations of shamans, light and energy workers and spiritual practitioners.
As a shamaness, guide, and founder of Infinity, Maria Félix leads with an open heart and a vision of healing women and girls from trauma, utilizing ancestral medicine and incorporating diverse modalities tailored to individual or group needs.
Maria Félix believes that women who have had the most trauma can transmute that and become the greatest healers, that every wound holds wisdom, and that adversity builds character and shapes us into the resilient humans we are meant to be on this Earth, and that adversity should not make us bitter, it should make us better. She is ready, willing, and able to guide and assist women and girls in healing trauma and discovering their inner warrior.
Leaning on her 31 years of nonprofit experience, Maria Félix is in the process of establishing GEMAS Guerreras Espirituales de Medicina Ancestral y Sanacion (Spiritual Warriors of Ancestral Medicine and Healing), a nonprofit whose mission is “To help women and girls heal and awaken in them the alchemist through ancestral and spiritual practices.”
An Open Invitation
Maria Félix also has a space located in Puerto Vallarta, where she provides healing modalities to individuals, couples, and mother-daughter pairs. She invites her guests to step into a sacred space, allowing them to remember who they were before the world told them otherwise.
