You Can Have it All

”You have been given fairly simple and straightforward instructions on how to realize who you really are and live as who you are on the earth. You may wonder why so few people avail themselves of what is right in front of them in the moment.

Part of it has to do with the structure of the ego and the belief in separation. When you’re identified with duality and separation, it seems that whatever you choose, you have to let something else go. It’s based on the premise that, because this is a material world, you can’t have it all. If there’s more for you, then there’s less for somebody else.

And so over time, subtly, people believe that they need to give up something to get something… and it’s hard to do.

Depending on your experiences when you were very young, you may have issues with security. And then, all through your life, you will aim to find some way of being secure. You’ll be concerned about your money and housing, and your health and security will be top of mind.

At other times, you will be interested in sensation and excitement and pursuing things that are stimulating to the senses. This is often referred to as “sex, drugs, and rock and roll.” But, it also has to do with wanting to get the most out of life by having a sensational experience.

One of the American presidents, soon after he retired, jumped out of a plane with a parachute, because that’s something he always wanted to do. Sometimes, men in their 60s become preoccupied with buying the motorcycle they always wished they could have had when they were younger.

Still, others will pursue power and control, and want to be activists in a certain way, and all of these become a priority over the kingdom of heaven.

But why is that? Underneath is a belief that pursuing God, and only God, means that you have to eschew all of the other things that make life interesting and rich and exciting.

You’d have to trade in your security and trade in your sensuality and trade in your power and activism for this ineffable experience of God. And, as long as you believe in the zero-sum game, then you have to give that up to get this.

And, it makes sense that people would become nuns and monks and ascetics and deny themselves many, many things in the belief that that was getting them closer to God. And they made a willing surrender of these other things —sometimes making them wrong.

Thus, an anti-materialistic, anti-sexual, and anti-activist attitude arises— that these things must be eliminated to draw you closer to God. All of this is really wrong. It’s a mistaken notion.

The promise is, “Seek ye, first, the Kingdom of Heaven and all things will be added unto you.” People who really understand this, who really pursue this, find that they actually have an enhanced sense of all of the lower energy cycles.

When they make God and their connection to the infinite a priority, they don’t have to give up anything. In fact, all of the other levels of energy are enhanced. And, there are experiences available to you that you can’t possibly get when you pursue them singularly.

So, fear not.

The pursuit of truth, living as the Christ, being who you are, does not preclude anything on the human level. It doesn’t preclude marriage, it doesn’t preclude sex, it doesn’t preclude abundance and money. It doesn’t preclude fun, excitement, joy.

It’s just the opposite. All those things are enhanced. They’re added unto you because of the choice you made, first and foremost, to be who you really are in all your glory, in all of God’s glory.

Those things that you used to pursue for happiness become the vehicles through which your godliness is expressed. And, they all serve you because they serve God… as do you.

Release the notion that you must give something up. Just pursue love itself first and let everything be added unto you.”
