You Were Never Lost

There’s a tendency among many people never to question the notion that they are alone and separate from God. And the drive is to become comfortable with that by learning to set goals and achieve things, create prosperity, and enjoy your independence.

You can even have a concept of God. “God helps those who help themselves.” And so, you help yourself to your life and do what you can to get by. And you have your own sense of right and wrong and ethics and try to be a good person, maybe even including religion.
That will only work for a little while. At a certain point, the entire setup will be called into question. People don’t tend to come to God until they need to until they realize they have run out of rope and are at the end of it.

And, even if you have your spiritual ducks in a row, even if you’re practicing and meditating and are in alignment with what you read and are celebrating the New Age, there will come a time when you will exhaust your own ability to save yourself, to figure things out, to know what to do.

You don’t have to be driven to your knees, but it requires humility to admit that you don’t know what to do. You don’t know how to get to where you need to go. And you’ve tried getting there alone and can only get so far.

There is help for you. But you must ask for it. So many beings wish to give you their love, assistance, and guidance. And yet, they can’t even heal you if you don’t allow it.
If you confront your beliefs about whether you deserve to be healed and whether you deserve abundance, it would be easier to accept the help being offered.

It doesn’t require humiliation. It doesn’t require shame. It doesn’t require embarrassment. It’s not a sign of weakness. It’s actually a sign of strength.

Many people try to bring spirituality to their problems by putting a layer of positivity over what might otherwise be considered negative, reframing their lives, and seeing everything in light, love, and peace. Eventually, that doesn’t work either.

You can’t bring God to your problems. You must bring your problems to God.

That means offering up your attachment to both your problems and your solutions and your pictures and your ideas of what you think good is and what you think bad is, what is right and what is wrong.

Offer all that up. Release your certainty about what a good outcome would look like and be more interested in what a good outcome would feel like.

Offer these things up to God in whatever way you can– maybe with the simple admission that you don’t know what’s best for you and don’t know how things should look. Let that be okay.

That’s what opens you up to receive the help you deserve, need, and want that is so ready to come to you. Allow the love that you are to accept the love that you are and wait for an answer. You will know it by how it feels.

You don’t need to save yourself. You just need to open yourself up, and you will recognize that you are already saved and you were never lost.
