It’s almost time, once again, for the Alexander A Salon Charity Foundation Fashion Show, so please mark your calendars and save the date: Sunday, February 25th, 2024!
Doors open at 12:15 for cocktails and socializing at our cash bar, and the show starts promptly at 1:00 pm.
As you know, Alex Daoud has long been committed to fundraising for many organizations in his 13 years in Vallarta. During this time, he has raised over 1,650,000 pesos for various charities.
And Alex and his team are beyond excited to present our fashion show again and continue the fundraising efforts!
We are SO pleased to announce that our 7th Annual Charity Fashion Show will again take place at the beautiful Marriott Hotel.
Our MC will be the amazing Amy Armstong, and we will enjoy fabulous entertainment produced by Fusion Latina. We will have a delicious lunch, a silent auction, and raffles.
And this year, we have a very special and unique runway event from a European designer with ties to Vallarta, Ms. Larisa Katz. There will also be a makeover and some special surprises from our two wonderful event sponsors, Aveda and Isagenix.
And, in a continuation of our efforts in recent years, we are again raising money for Casa Esperanza, our local shelter for at-risk women and their children. This deserving organization is critical to the safety and well-being of women and children in and around Puerto Vallarta.
We are proud to partner with Casa Esperanza’s founder, Mr. David Zude, and Ms. Freda Thompson, to help raise money for this worthwhile cause. Last year, we raised 150,000 pesos.
This year, our goal is to raise 250,000 pesos with our all-volunteer fashion show event and your support.
The words ‘Casa Esperanza’ translate to ‘House of Hope.’ And that is literally what this organization provides to women and children in desperate need. Hope – in the form of resources, services and kindness.
The families sheltered there are survivors of extreme violence, experiencing the most difficult of circumstances. Casa Esperanza provides housing, food, clothing, medical, dental, psychological, and legal services, social work, and teaching interventions to their clients.
Most importantly, in addition to the above services, Casa Esperanza provides safety and support while the women and children sheltered there rebuild their lives.
Casa Esperanza currently operates at a cost of $325,000 US per year to maintain operations. The Alexander A Salon Charity Foundation sincerely hopes to continue our partnership with Casa Esperanza in future years, and it is our commitment to be one of Casa Esperanza’s strongest financial supporters.
One of the reasons that Casa Esperanza holds such a place in Alex’s heart is that, like him and his work, Casa Esperanza is all about empowering women.
Alex’s entire career has been devoted to helping women feel confident, strong, and in possession of a positive self-image.
Casa Esperanza helps women achieve these qualities as well, providing a lifeline for women and children to live freely, independently, and peacefully.
So, of course, the pairing of Alex’s charity foundation with Casa Esperanza has been a natural and fitting combination.
This year, Alex’s Salon and Aveda International will each donate 10% of all product sales (from either the fashion show or at Alex’s salon) to Casa Esperanza from the date of this publication through the fashion show and until the end of March 2024.
We are so proud to partner with Aveda in this ongoing effort. This year, we again dedicate our fashion show to reflecting and honoring women from all walks of life, in all circumstances, and in all their unique beauty and strength!
