On Sunday, March 17 at 2 pm, David Duvall celebrates the Gershwin brothers, who wrote American classics like Porgy and Bess and Rhapsody in Blue 100 years ago in 1924. David promises film clips of some of the greatest dancers ever on the screens in Act2PV’s Casa Karma Red Room.
To help sing some of their classics will be special guests Bobbi Goddard, Robert Ryan & Gene Berube. Danny Lopez Arganis, who played the February show, will again be Duvall’s bassist, and his son Danny Ju Lopez will be on drums. Rounding out the jazz quartet will be Zahid on guitar.
The Gershwin brothers are responsible for such classic hits as:
- Someone To Watch Over Me
- They Can’t Take That Away From Me (Oscar winner)
- Our Love Is Here To Stay
- I Got Rhythm
- A Foggy Day
- I’ve Got A Crush On You
Duvall’s March concert will feature a short section devoted to Porgy and Bess, and he has devised an interesting way to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Rhapsody in Blue.
