From Busking on Pitillal Buses to Teatro Vallarta

Born December 12, 1993, in Rome, Italy.
She is known as Gloria Fiona. Fiona is a nickname she received after the movie Shrek was released. Her high school buddies used to describe her physical changes – from bright red hair one day to whatever color the next. She was just like the Princess and Fiona has become her artistic last name.

Ten years ago, she came to Vallarta for a vacation and fell in love with this mystical, magical place and its people. After two months, she went back to Rome, sold everything, and returned to Vallarta to spend a year. Or two. It didn’t take long for her money to run out and she spent her last 50 euros on a guitar and hit the Pitillal buses, working that until she heard about Open Mic at Act2.

Gloria’s singing career took off when she came in a close second in the Voice of Vallarta contest held at Act2PV a decade ago. It’s her favorite talent. However, she is branching out.

In the last couple of months, she has started to help others. Artists, places and people who need something, starting with music. She has begun producing shows.

She is delighted to help others and supports them in their rise. So many people want to express themselves, and she knows this is what makes us human. Creating something is important for us to leave behind on this earth.

Whenever she sells a ticket for an event, she donates 20% to a non-profit organization in Vallarta.

This summer, she will produce two shows a month; a couple will be held at Casa Karma. Gloria loves to design shows but wants them different every time, so she usually takes two weeks to create each one.

Her mid-range plans include building productions with a group of dancers who competed in the RISE talent contest last year and won the year before: Fusión 91. Yari is the 21-year-old Maestra of Fusion 91. She also choreographed the Freddy Mercury shows at The Palm Cabaret. They will have a show at La Catrina Cantina this summer.

Long-range plans include an original play based on the narrative poem, The Divine Comedy, by Italian writer Dante Alighieri. This is a three-year project with original classical music written by Maestro Aquiles Morales, Conductor of the Vallarta Symphony Orchestra. Following Dante’s lead, the first part will debut in March at Teatro Vallarta. Inferno will be interactive, much like a Cirque du Soleil production with Purgatory and Paradise to follow, each a year apart.

MAGIA, part of Gloria Fiona Live Music production company, will produce the show emphasizing magic, illusion, alchemy and duality. Sponsors to date include Captain Don’s, Cassandra Shaw Jewelers, Casa Karma, Chakrana PV, and their main sponsor, Teatro Vallarta.

Gloria’s triumphant tribute to Adele was so successful – five sold-out shows, it has been added to the Palm Cabaret’s 2024/25 season.

Her latest smash hit that followed was called Burlesque at La Catrina Cantina. It came back on July 3! The audience was encouraged to wear leather, lace, latex, rubber, whatever bondagy-thing that got them in the mood for some joyous B-u-r-l-e-s-q-u-e!

Gloria and I spent 90 minutes over iced coffee and mango smoothies discussing one of our greatest loves – Puerto Vallarta. The future of entertainment in Vallarta lives in the hearts and souls of her talented residents.

Gloria has just begun to shine; at 30, she is starting to tap into her endless positivity that if it can be visualized, she will make it happen. I fell in love with her voice ten years ago and have watched her grow and learn – her most significant and greatest discovery to date has been embracing herself. Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present Gloria Fiona.
