Thank You for the Music

Because music was there
before I knew what God
meant.
Before I knew how to pray,
I hummed lullabies to the moon.

It was my secret language
when the world was too loud—
a place to go.
When I had nowhere to go.

I didn’t need permission to fall.
I didn’t need to make sense.
I just needed a song,
and suddenly—
I belonged.

Music held my hand
through long car rides and
longer goodbyes.

It sat beside me
on kitchen floors and quiet
mornings
when the coffee wasn’t strong enough
to stir my spirit.

I sang myself through
heartbreaks
danced through illnesses,
cried into chords
and stitched my broken parts

It was music that lifted me back into alignment.
Alike.

There were seasons when I
couldn’t find my voice,
but music always found me.

In the waiting rooms,
the hospital halls,
The moments I faced my own
endings—it was music that lifted me back
into alignment.

There is a soundtrack to my soul—
one only I can sing.

But it echoes the pulse
of every place I’ve lived,
every promise I’ve made,
and every person
who ever left their imprint on my
heart.

So today,
I offer this tribute—
not just to music,
but to the rhythm of my life.

To the beat I was born with.
To the ballads that built me.
To the melodies I carry,
even now,
in every breath
I say, thank you for the music, for giving it to me.

The Soundtrack of Your Soul
“Music is the divine way to tell beautiful, poetic things to the heart.” Pablo Cassis

Once upon the light of day,
not long ago or far away,
from a stunning display of live performance art.

A shining ovation—if not divine orchestration—
of a rising sun ablaze,
with the dawning of a new moon phase.
How Great Thou Art.

Into the Mystic—the majesty
of that magnificent morning masterpiece,
a gift from heaven to the heart—
an ancient drum begins to play,
through the ageless, timeless,
sacred Sound of Silence.

And The Beat Goes On—
through the heart of creation,
becoming the pulse of every melody, every song,
every sweet note of inspiration,
streaming through the supremacy of imagination.

La-di-da-di-di,

La-di-da-di-da…

And then it paused.
For the Winds of Change whispered a name
into the great, creative mind of God—
a name that came Across the Universe
like a thunderbolt of love,
striking the awe-inspiring Maestro
of the all-encompassing life show,
to sing like a symphony of strings…

Hallelujah.
The secret chords the angels praise.
The music of the Lord.

Precisely that instant,
a sound emerged From a Distance—
a captivating gong that merged
an orchestra of earth and sky,
unified in one mesmerizing hum,
igniting a new birth light
to grace the human race.

Truth be known,
through the ground of that Ohm—
that chorus of creation—
the beat rolled on…
seeking rhythm, tone,
a unique harmony, intensity, frequency,
and Good Vibrations.

Then, out of the blend and boom,
an I Feel Good variety of electrifying moods,
the essence of a song streamed through,
becoming the source, the inspiration,
the idea of you—
My Girl… a gorgeous illumination in this world.

My love, my light—before you go,
before the song fades soft and low,
there’s music left unsung in you,
a melody the world still needs to know.

A note so pure, a sound so rare,
no other voice could play your air.

No other hands could drum your beat,
no other feet could dance so free.

So don’t let silence steal your song,

Don’t let the world unwrite your name.
For in your breath, the stars still sing,
and in your heart still burns the flame.

Let it rise, let it soar.

Let your rhythm shake the floor!

There’s a symphony to your spirit…
a soundtrack in your soul.

a song designed to be,
The music and lyrics, in tune with the spirit.

Of a beat that goes on—
Forever Young, forever strong
Forever and Ever, Amen.

To your own, unique God-given drum.
The one to whom you belong.

La-di-da-di-di!

La-di-da-di-da!

Written for my daughter in a time of doubt.  This poem reminds us all — each life carries a song, a divine rhythm. Each creation has a divine intention and a purpose beyond what we can see.

Accompanied by ABBA’S “Thank You for the Music”- a tribute to the songs that shaped my story and gave rhythm to hers.
