I was at the right time and the right place because, unbeknownst to me, the Center was hosting a big event, or “Congress,” on world peace. At that time, I had some experience as a media relations officer, so my ‘job’ was to be a minder to some of the invited ‘special guests.’
We called our teacher Swamiji, and I had no idea he had founded T.W.O. (True World Order), an organization that aimed to promote world peace and understanding.
This “Congress” was the first event of its kind in the world, which brought together senior spiritual and political leaders under the banner of ‘Unity in Diversity.’
This is not what I am writing about, but it is a bit of background. I lucked out. My two guests to so-call ‘mind’ was Edgar Mitchell, the 6th man to walk on the moon, and Cleve Backster, ex-CIA, who was best known for his experiments with plants using a polygraph instrument in the 1960s, which led to his theory of primary perception where he claimed that plants feel pain and have extrasensory perception (ESP).
His theories were in Peter Tompkins and Christopher Bird’s book ‘The Secret Life of Plants.’
Then came Marcel Vogel, a research scientist at IBM who was a proponent of research into plant consciousness and believed “empathy between plant and human” could be established.
He received 32 patents for his inventions up through his tenure at IBM. I will not go into all his inventions, but his areas of expertise, besides luminescence, were phosphor technology, magnetics, and liquid crystal systems, and I also remember his work with pyramid-shaped devices. Years later, I realized that we did not need any of this ‘stuff’ unless it entertained us as “we” were the crystal, “we” were the magnet, “we” were the pyramid.
The latest research on plant emotions and intelligence is where I am going with this.
Recent research on plant intelligence suggests that plants have many capabilities that indicate intelligence, including the ability to sense, which means the ability to hear, taste, sense gravity, water, and obstructions.
Plants can learn quickly and make memories. For example, the mimosa pudica, or “sensitive plant,” can display learned responses in as little as one day.
Plants can communicate with each other using chemical gasses. When a plant is threatened, it releases an alarm call that other plants can pick up on.
Plants can adapt to their environment. For example, some tomato plants produce a chemical that makes them unappetizing to caterpillars. Some orchids have evolved to look like insects or smell like rotting meat to attract prey.
Plants can respond to touch and interpret sound. Another ‘for example’ lab-grown pea shoots can navigate mazes and respond to running water.
Some scientists argue that plants should be considered intelligent because they exhibit behaviors similar to those of animals, which we consider intelligent.
Let me share with you a recent ‘encounter and love affair’ I had with a rosemary plant that I had rescued when it was left on the curb; the previous owner believed it was dying. I cannot resist bringing a ‘dying’ plant home. To me, it’s like rescuing a puppy or a kitten.
I took it home, transplanted it, and asked it what it needed to grow healthy and strong. Telepathically, it began to communicate with me. Eventually, this small dying plant became a bush about three feet high.
Every morning, I spent time sharing coffee with my rosemary bush. I would make her a very diluted espresso and pour it in her evolving pots; she liked a bit of acid in her soil.
I would praise her and tell her how beautiful she was and how proud I was of her chosen journey. One morning, as I stood there chatting away to her, (I live alone and do not have a cat or dog to talk to), therefore I talk to my plants, she showered me with love. The hair at the back of my neck and on my arms stood on end, and I was reduced to tears, the love was so powerful and quite overwhelming.
A few weeks later, when I came out to share coffee with her, she had turned black overnight and there was not a bit of green left in her large bush.
I believed she had ‘transitioned’ because I “saw” her, truly saw her with feelings and consciousness.
I then researched the ‘spiritual’ meaning of a rosemary plant and discovered beyond its culinary uses, “this herb embodies purification, protection, remembrance, and spiritual self-discovery. Whether used in ceremonies, rituals, or daily practices, rosemary can be a powerful tool to enhance your spiritual journey and connection with the divine.” She must have evolved in her own spiritual ‘self-discovery – I was hoping perhaps into a tree or a hummingbird.
Whatever her purpose was on this planet as a rosemary bush was over and she had moved on to ‘more’ – very similar to what happens to our bodies, our forms, when our learning is over, and it is time to go ‘home’ and move on to ‘more.’
Remember, we are all energy, whether it is a rock, water, the air we breathe, or our pets; it is energy – energy at different frequencies but still only energy.
A few days ago, I bought a baby rosemary plant at the Emilio Zapata Market, and I hope to develop a relationship with her.
The following was channeled by Pamela Kribbe from the Netherlands. Pamela was a scholarship student at Harvard and earned her PhD in Ethics and Philosophy.
If you noticed, all these people I have quoted were not so-called ‘woo woos’ but well-educated, recognized, and acclaimed research scientists.
Translated from Dutch.
“The plant kingdom in a way remained an open channel to pure light, to what you could call a heavenly realm which is angelic in nature. If you feel into the plant kingdom, for example, when you walk in a forest, when you feel into the trees, the green, into the whole of it, you can sense that this part of nature is somehow much less affected by collective consciousness, by the ideas of heavy emotions of fear, or control, or power that are part of the earthly realm. The plant kingdom is freer of this and has a very pure energy to it which can bring you home, actually, in a very direct and fast way.”
Guidance strongly suggests that we spend more time in nature in this time of chaos, confusion, and fear. Go find a tree and hug it. Walk along the ocean or find a park and enjoy its quietness. Find a place where nature dominates. Sit and feel peace descending on you.
I love you – The Mayan saying: “In Lak’ ech” – you are my mirror; I am you, and you are me. We are all reflections of each other. We are collectively creating a new earth by showing up and working on being more humane and more joyful. That is our mission on this incredible planet. To honestly and truly find our desire and live it honestly and truly in a state of joy.
And please, “Lighten Up!” Once the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN near Geneva moves into high gear and goes beyond the “Big Bang,” the scientists were asked what they believed was beyond the “Big Bang.” “Light.”
Shine your Light from the inside out. “Let there be Light” – that is truly who we ALL are. “Light equates Love.”
Thank you for reading my words.
