Amapas Neighborhood Association Unveils Revitalized Stairs

On November 14, 2024, the Amapas Neighborhood Association celebrated the symbolic inauguration of the newly revitalized stairs on Abedul Street, located in the heart of the Amapas neighborhood. This significant milestone marks the completion of a community-driven project that has transformed a once-neglected public space into a vibrant and beautiful walkway.

For many years, the stairs connecting Highway 200 to Playa de los Muertos suffered from neglect and deterioration. In response, the Amapas Neighborhood Association initiated a campaign in April 2023 to rehabilitate and beautify the stairs, railings, and surrounding area. The project culminated in early 2024 with the stunning intervention of renowned muralist artist, Danyol León.

The revitalized stairs now serve as a vital connection for visitors, workers, and residents, offering a picturesque route through the neighborhood. The colorful murals and restored infrastructure not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of the area but also contribute to the overall well-being of the community.

The Amapas Neighborhood Association has a long history of community involvement, spanning over 20 years. The organization has spearheaded numerous projects, including the construction of sidewalks, cleaning initiatives, and the installation of lighting. These efforts have significantly improved the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.

The Amapas Neighborhood Association extends its sincere gratitude to all who contributed to the revitalization of the Abedul Street stairs. By working together, the community has created a lasting legacy for future generations to enjoy.
