Progressive Live Music Party – August 29th, 2024

I love being 80! I love where I am in my life! I love observing the shift in people’s energies when I proudly say I am 80. Suddenly, people’s expectations for my behavior plummet to new lows.

I love flying in the face of myths and generalizations. Like the one I am about to explode: There is no such thing as downtime for live entertainment in Puerto Vallarta.

Believe it!

I am happily taking full advantage of my “new” age to push my agenda (yup, I have one). I am combining my life lessons and skills as CEO (Chief Entertaining Officer) of our business in the paint and coatings industry to present my agenda. Here it is … drum roll please:

I want everyone to join me, either in person or energetically, to expose the joys and importance of live music in our world, especially in this little oasis of sanity called Puerto Vallarta, where there is a large community of performers who need our help to get the “notes” out!!

So let’s campaign actively, in a joyful way, to promote my agenda. Celebrate live music and the talented beings who create it (or as many of the humble singers will say, allow that gorgeous sound to be created through them) to bring this truth to light and, in that way, raise the vibrations of the planet.

That really is my overarching agenda.

Many of us in this community of conscious beings are beginning to understand the power of healing through sound. We know that live music in specific frequencies raises vibrations.

Make love (through live music) not war (remember I am a 60s kid).

Music unites! Puerto Vallarta artists unite!! We can make a far-reaching difference, and we shall!!

So, my friends, join us in this unifying effort on August 29th, which would have been Gholi’s and my 60th anniversary.

I want to honor our zany marriage by using my skill set as CEO… to unite all my beautiful Vallarta friends who sing and perform with my favorite welcoming venues presently open – La Catrina Cantina and Act2PV.

As for me… I am going to put this together and then duck behind the scenes. This will be the way to bring oneness through sharing talents at both venues.

Everyone is welcome…. We are never exclusive; it is a foreign concept in this lovely town. Every lover of live music joins me in the audience of a night to remember.

Here is the agenda and the schedule:

Meet at La Catrina Cantina at 6:00 pm on Thursday, August 29th. Every guest and every performer must pay 100 peso cover charge (a symbolism I shall explain). I will give this money to all of the performers in both venues.

This will be a win-win night. Everyone will help everyone; all performers will get tips for their performances, so create a budget to include your giving something to everyone. If we all do this, every one of the performers will benefit, and you will have the peace and joy of knowing that you helped.

I shall, as a pushy force to be reckoned with, see to that. (I shall be “tipping the light fantastic, it’s my party, and I shall collect if I want to” will be my theme song. See what I mean about taking advantage of my age (i.e. being an “opportunist”).

La Catrina, a venue in a league of its own, needs to be celebrated for its massive role in promoting, discovering and supporting live music in this magical city. They will get much-needed revenue for the bar and food; I want this to be a huge night for them, so come hungry and thirsty. Ah, but that’s not all; remember the Casa Karma mantra: “Expect the Unexpected.”

At 8:00, after the surprise performances, we shall take our cause to the streets and gather momentum New Orleans style, with musicians leading the way, a short trek down the street to Act 2, gathering people into the fold as we go!!!

There will be live music in the street… so be part of the procession. I’ll supply a little courage in a cup that will hang around your neck with a beaded chain. I see this as a traffic-stopping experience, terrific!!

At Act 2, we shall be greeted with more music and open arms! You will be even more thirsty from the walk, so now it is time to belly up to Mary Ann’s Ovations Piano Bar and spread the wealth.

Expect even more spectacular entertainment with some of the most renowned performers in that world. David Maiocco, a celebrated pianist who has won award after award in the industry, and David Sabella aka Amanda Reckonwith, a Broadway baby also collecting accolades and awards for his talents, have agreed to be part of this beautiful community. Adding their light and helping to raise the vibrations in the city with their talents and giving natures.

Also, I’ll have a surprise for all of you… it will be time for dessert for some of you. So now, with the inscription on the delicious cake, I shall provide… “let the “live” music play on and on…

We shall “let them (you) all eat cake” and allow everyone to digest that message!

If you are in town, join in this experience. One secret to healthy longevity is the 3 E’s: Experience, Expand, and Eureka! You have just found the fountain of youth!!!

Live in the moment. Know you are limitless beings in a limitless universe.

Come on August 29th, and you will know that “sky’s the limit.”
